Favourite Book – Lanny by Max Porter and Mayflies by Andrew O’Hagan
I’m involved in many different elements of the Salon, including managing the newsletters, running our Indie Bookshop of the Month feature and being part of the production team for the Salon events. I am also a PA, Administrator and Production Manager. I mostly work in the arts and publishing but also with yoga practitioners and people offering talking therapies. I like the colour mustard yellow and travelling in my campervan!
-
Bakul Patki | Press & Publicity (she/her)
Favourite Book – The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling
I’ve known Damian since forever and worked with him on lots of projects. I came to the first Salon at Shoreditch House in 2008 and have supported it ever since, securing coverage and interviews. I am also a curator working with many artists and galleries in New York.
-
Megan Bay Dorman | Podcast Producer & Instagram Presenter (she/her)

Here at Salon I host the monthly Insta Live visits to our indie bookshops. I also produce the podcast and I’m a TV presenter and producer. I’ve presented a wide variety of content, including Open University videos, live BBC radio, and recently an interview with Jo Whiley. I’ve also produced a wide range of factual broadcast television including BBC’s primetime show Saving Lives At Sea, Food Unwrapped, and Writers of Rye (with Damian!).

Matt Casbourne | Creative Partnerships & Book Of The Week Manager (he/him)
Favourite Book – Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
I run the Book of the Week feature on our podcast, selecting titles we want to showcase and getting the best readings from participating authors. I also edit the lists of 'Books That Inspire' and lend a hand at Salons when needed. I'm also Head of Sales, Marketing and Publicity at Duckworth, one of the UK’s oldest independent publishers. And I keep bees in my back garden—many, many bees!
-
Ella Berthoud | Bibliotherapist Extraordinaire (she/her)
Favourite Book – Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins
I am a Bibliotherapist and an Artist. I co-founded the bibliotherapy service at The School of Life with Susan Elderkin in 2007. I’ve worked closely with Damian and the Salon team since 2008, providing bibliotherapy for Salonistas around the world! My mission is to have the perfect book recommendation for you to read at any given time in your life.
-
Amy Very | Website Designer (she/her)
Favourite Book – Astragal by Albertine Sarrazin
I design & manage the Salon website. I’m always thinking about ways to tell our story and adding new features. I work with lots of other clients too, mainly in the creative industries, including Sophie Abbott and Kristjana S Williams. I’m obsessed with 1960s design & architecture and would ideally like to live in the Pierre Cardin House or maybe in some tropical retro bubble in Ibiza.
-
Jake Clark-Darby | Live Stream & Video Producer (he/him)
Favourite Book – To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee
My job is to get the Salon livestream looking and sounding as fantastic as our guests! I’ve spent the last decade working across multiple television channels and in 2019 I created my own video production company. Since then I’ve worked with many big brands & institutions; Sony, Nike, Volkswagen, South Bank Centre, Huffington Post and now I’m busy running all the live streams and video production for the London Library, where lots of Salons are held.
-
Daisy Honeybunn | Salon Photographer (she/her)
Favourite Book – The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov
I photographed the Salons back at Shoreditch House and have been with Salon ever since. I’ve taken pictures of Brett Easton Ellis, Yaa Gyasi and Jojo Moyes. I might even have taken a picture of you because I *LOVE* capturing reactions. I buy way too many books. I am also a trained soprano.
